Tenía muchas ganas de probar este patrón. Me gusta para mí y para la bicha :)
En el cuello le puse FOE pero creo que lo estiré más de la cuenta.
Cosiendo y aprendiendo!

De momento es uno de los vestidos favoritos. Este sí consigo que se lo ponga.

I was looking forward to try this pattern. I like it for me and I like it for the little monster :)
I used FOE on the neck but I think I stretched it a bit more than needed.

Enamorada de Sandro / Sandro In love

Tenía muchas ganas de probar este patrón y sí, me he enamorado. Me encanta el toque setentero y la forma de la rodilla. Ideal para jugar sin que molesten los vaqueros.
Sólo necesito encontrar hueco para hacer los siguientes.
Mi petición desde aquí es que los hagan en talla 42. Los quiero para mi!!!
Ah! y es una de las pocas veces que J quiere ponerse pantalones :P

I was looking forward to try this pattern and yes, I felt in love. I love the seventies look and the knee shape. Perfect to play without stretching the jeans.
I only need to find a slot to make the next ones.
My request would be to get them in size 42. I want them for me!!!
Ah! and is one of the few times that J want to wear trousers :P

Cesta para colada / Laundry basket

Llevaba tiempo buscando una cesta de mimbre grande para hacer la colada. Después de mirar en 1000 tiendas (chinos incluidos) la encontré en una ferretería. Llevaba ahí tantos años que el precio estaba en... PESETAS!!

Cómo no, había que hacerle una funda. Así que le tomé medidas, le hice el patrón y voilà! Cesta nueva.

I have being long time searching for a big wicker basket for the laundry. After checking in 1000 shops I found it. It was so many years waiting for me in the shop that the price was in... PESETAS!!

Of course it requires a cover. So I measure it, made a pattern and voilà! New basket!

He vuelto! / I'm back!

Después de una mudanza internacional, de abrir cajas y hacer un millón de papeleo... He vuelto!
Como tenía mono me fui a una tienda de las de toda la vida y no paré hasta que no encontré una tela elástica y baratita. A 3.50€/m no está mal, no?

After an international move, opening boxes and tonnes of paperwork... I'm back!
As I had cold turkey I went to a shop and I didn't stop until I found an elastic cheap fabric. 3.50€/m is not bad, is it?

Por fin me lancé a hacer el patrón Shirt oder Kleid que tanto tiempo llevaba en mi lista de deseos. La tela me gusta pero tan negra me pareció un poco triste y de abuela así que le puse un bies de lunares a ver si se alegraba un poco. Como todavía me parecía poco le añadí el mismo bies en la cintura. Y ahí ya me entró la locura y le añadí otra pieza al bajo. 
Todavía me seguía pareciendo un poco de abuela así que después de mirar un montón de apliques y opciones diferentes me decidí por decorarlo con botones de colores y cinta. Es una flor? Es una calavera? Es un churro?

Finally I did the Shirt oder Kleid pattern that was so long on my wish list. I like the fabric, but being so dark I thought it was a bit sad and for grandmas, so I added a polka dot bias to try to cheer it up. I thought that wasn't enough so I added a bit more on the waist, and then a bit more on the bottom of the dress.
I still thought it was a bit "grandma style" so after checking a lot of stencils I decided to decorate it with some random buttons and ribbon. Is it a flower? Is it a scull? Is it a mess?

Cómo siempre de primeras no me convence. El patrón sí. Me encanta y repito seguro. Pero tengo que mejorar en la combinación de telas y decoración ;)

Like always I'm not totally in love with it. Well, I am with the pattern. I love it and I'm going to repeat for sure. But I have to improve how to combine the fabrics and decoration ;)

Aquí os dejo con unas fotos. La tela refleja un poco porque tiene algo de brillo pero es negra negra. No os olvidéis de pasar por el RUMS de esta semana.

Vaqueros con Búhos / Owl Jeans

Hace unos meses hice estos pantalones para J reciclando unos vaqueros viejos. Cómo es posible que ya le queden cortos!? El otro día se los puse y parecía que iba a pescar. 
No pasa nada, corta por aquí, pega por allá, y le añadimos unos bajos para que le duren unas semanas más.

A few months ago I sewed these trousers for J recycling my old jeans. How is it possible that they are short already? Last week she wore them and it looked like she was going fishing.
No problem, cut here, paste there and we have some extensions that hopefully will last a few more weeks.

Y así han quedado con la extensión. No se si se nota mucho pero tienen una forma acampanada que le da un toque hippie que me gusta mucho :)

And that's how they look with the extension! I don't know if it's visible but they have slightly flared bottoms that I quite like :)

Braga / Neck warmer

Estos días tengo poco tiempo pero tenía ganas de coser algo. Me decidí por una braga que hace tiempo quería hacer. Por una parte utilicé una camiseta vieja y por la otra la manta polarvide de Ikea. Un trabajo sencillo pero que cumple su función y encima combina con mi último vestido :)

These days I don't have much time but I wanted to sew something. I decided to do a neck warmer that I had wanted to do for a long time. On one side I used an old t-shirt and on the other one the Ikea polarvide blanket. It was easy and fast but it's functional and it also goes well with my last dress :)

Vestido Maxi Stars

Tenía que probar otra vez a hacer el vestido de Stoff&Stil. Esta vez con la tela MaxiStars. De nuevo me enamoré de una tela y me cuesta hacerme al resultado. Creo que tengo que acostumbrarme a llevar estampados... o escoger otras telas ;)

I had to try again making the Stoff&Stil dress. This time with MaxiStars fabric. Again I fell in love with a fabric and again I'm not 100% convinced with the result. I think I must get used to wearing fabrics with patterns... or choose different fabrics ;)

Os dejo una pequeña guía en imágenes de cómo sigo el patrón. Seguro que hay mejores formas de hacerlo pero así es como me voy apañando de momento

Las piezas preparadas para cortar y una vez cortadas. No les dejé margen porque me parece que el patrón es bastante amplio. Y sí, falta una manga y la parte de la falda es un poco más corta (no tenía tela suficiente)

I share a guide of how I follow the pattern. I'm sure there are better ways of doing it but that's how I manage to do it until now.

Here you can see the pieces before and after cutting. I didn't leave any margin because I think this pattern is quite big. And yes, there is a sleeve missing and the skirt is a bit shorter (I didn't have enough fabric)

Esta es la pieza que frunce el escote. Tuve que pegarle entretela para hacer el ojal porque como es tela elástica se deforma entero. Se hace el ojal en la parte de abajo y se planchan los dos laterales como a medio centímetro.

This piece is the one that gathers the breast. I had to iron some lining to do the buttonhole because the fabric is stretchy and it's imposible to do it without. Make a button hole on the bottom and iron both sides about 0.5 cm.

Presentarlo y coser los dos laterales cerca del borde. También hay que pasar una costura justo por el medio. Desde el ojal hasta 1 cm de la parte de arriba. Así va a quedar el camino para pasar el lazo con forma de U invertida.

Sew both sides close to the edge. You also need to sew a line in the middle from the buttonhole to 1cm from the top. So you get a path to put the ribbon with the shape of an upside-down U.

Enfrentar derecho con derecho y coser los hombros. Abrir la pieza y coser la manga abierta. Así es mucho más fácil.

Put the right sides together and sew the shoulders. Open it and sew the sleeve open. This way is much easier.

Una vez hecha la parte de arriba unir la falda delantera y trasera

Once the top bit is finished join the front and back skirt

Y para terminar, cerrar el vestido y coser todo el lateral

And to finish, close the dress and sew all around the side.

Para rematar las mangas y la falda le paso una costura con la overlock, doblo 1cm y coso o bien con aguja doble o con zigzag

To finish off the sleeves and the skirt I used the overlocker on the edge, fold 1cm and sew again with twin needle or zig zag stitch.
